10038. Rejoice And Shout Aloud

1 Not yet beneath our captain’s feet
Lie sin and death, and pain and woe;
Not yet the anthem, clear and sweet,
Of Heav’n, above, on earth, below.

Refrain:
Rejoice and shout aloud,
For soon the time will be,
When light shall break the cloud,
When Christ shall reign supreme,
Eternally.

2 Yet come it shall, and even now
Faith views the victory as won;
All hearts must yield, all knees must bend
To God’s beloved, anointed Son. [Refrain]

3 Like bugle blast, rings clear and strong
That pledge of prophet, from afar;
He shall not fail to right the wrong,
The isles shall speed the conqueror’s car. [Refrain]

4 Amen, Lord Jesus, onward sweep,
The lingering ages wait the sway;
The scepter stretch o’er land and deep,
Bring in the golden noontide day. [Refrain]

5 With yearning heart and lifted eye
The toilers watch and ever sing;
Thy kingdom, glory, power come nigh,
Let hallelujahs sweetly ring. [Refrain]
