Text: | My God, It Was Thy Grace |
Author: | Anonymous |
Tune: | CLARKSVILLE |
Composer: | William Bachelder Bradbury, 1816-1868 |
Media: | MIDI file |
1. My God, it was Thy grace
That did my strength supply;
When Thou didst hide Thy face,
Sure troubled then was I.
To Thee I cried, O Lord;
To Thee I made my supplicating plea.
2. What profit can it bring
If life Thou dost not spare?
Shall dust Thy praises sing
Shall it Thy truth declare?
Jehovah, hear, in mercy hear
My Helper, Savior, now appear.
3. With grief to gladness turned,
With sorrow changed to joy,
Thy praises I have learned,
And songs my lips employ;
So shall my tongue through life adore
And praise Thy name for evermore.
