As with ma­ny of my hymn texts, it came as a re­sult of my per­son­al de­vo­tion­al time, and is based on what I had read that morn­ing, Matthew 18:20. It was first sung at Fox Cha­pel Pres­by­ter­i­an Church and first pub­lished in The Cov­e­nant Hymna­l of The Evangelical Covenant Church.
