20. Trusting in Jesus

1. Tenderly calleth the Saviour,
Calling your heart to incline;
Lovingly, pleadingly calling,
"Come, lost one, now be mine.

Chorus:
Now I am trusting in Jesus,
Safely in him to abide;
Knowing his grace is sufficient,
Trusting whatever betide.

2. Pathways with clouds may be covered,
Purpose and work be unseen;
Steps will be brightly illumin'd,
Firm on his love if we lean. [Chorus]

3. Warm in the heart burns thy Spirit,
Happiness heav'nly, divine;
Toil grows so light in thy blessing,
Service so precious is thine. [Chorus]

4. Jesus his yoke doth make easy,
Charming us sweetly to toil;
Giving us strength in our labor,
Sowing in every soil. [Chorus]

2. Time for our labor is shortening;
Harvest day soon we'll behold;
Moments of weariness ending,
Treasures and sheaves to unfold. [Chorus]
