What a joy, this Habitation! What a day to celebrate!
God, you built the firm foundation for this home we dedicate;
As our refuge and our shelter, you surround us with your care;
You have given hands for building, hearts for caring, love to share.
Jesus, we have worked together; side by side you’ve made us strong,
In both sun and stormy weather, you have filled our work with song.
Master builder, you are with us, guiding us in all we do;
As we work to build new houses, so you build our lives anew.
By your Spirit’s loving presence, bless this home and family here.
Bless the labor all have offered; bless each willing volunteer.
Help us as we keep on working toward the day when there shall be
Homes and wholeness, peace and justice, for your whole community.
