226. The Fountain of Blessing

1 I’ve been to the fountain of blessing,
And drank of its waters so free;
Its murmurs were sweeter than music,
So calm and so restful to me:

Chorus:
I’ve been to the fountain of blessing;
My spirit, o’erburdened with care,
Was lost in the vision of rapture,
For Jesus, my Saviour, was there.

2 He spoke, and with rev’rence I listened,
I knew the glad sound of His voice,
The bow of His promise was o’er me,
He bade me look up and rejoice. [Chorus]

3 I’ve been to the fountain of blessing,
And soon to its source I shall go,
To dwell in His presence for ever,
Where only His love I shall know. [Chorus]
