214b. Sing to the great Jehovah's praise

1 Sing to the great Jehovah's praise,
All praise to him belongs;
Who kindly lengthens out our day,
Demands our choicest songs.
Whose providence hath brought us through
Another various year;
We all with vows and anthems new,
Before our God appear.

Chorus:
A Saviour let creation sing,
A Saviour let all heav'n ring,
He's God with us, we feel him ours,
His fulness in our souls he pour.
'Tis almost done, 'tis almost o'er,
We're joining them who're gone before,
We then shall meet to part no more.

2 Father, thy mercies past we own,
Thy still continu'd care;
To thee presenting, thro' thy Son
What'er we have, or are;
Our lips and lives shall gladly show
The wonders of thy love,
While on in Jesu's steps we go
To seek thy face above. [Chorus]

3 Our residue of days or hours,
Thine, wholly thine shall be,
And all our consecrated pow'rs
A sacrifice to thee.
A rill, a stream, a torrent flows,
But from the mighty flood,
O sweep the nations, shake the earth,
Till all proclaim thee God. [Chorus]

4 And when thou mak'st thy jewels up,
And sets thy starry crown,
When all thy sparkling gems shall shine,
Proclaim'd by thee thine own,
May we--We little band of love,
Be sinners sav'd by grace,
From glory into glory chang'd,
Behold thee face to face. [Chorus]
