50. In Sight of Heaven

1 When near at home or far away,
To God’s dear promises I cling,
And thus I’ll live by night and day,
In sight of heav’n, and heaven’s King.

My grateful song I’ll ever sing,
And live while trusting in His word,
In sight of heav’n, and heaven’s King.

2 Where e’er my weary steps may lead,
Each duty doth new pleasure bring;
I know that I am safe indeed,
In sight of heav’n, and heaven’s King. [Refrain]

3 While in His service, I may go
Where foes their cruel darts may fling;
Yet, still a blessed peace I know,
In sight of heav’n, and heaven’s King. [Refrain]

4 But when the end of life shall come,
And I no more with mortals sing;
I know I’ll reach that blessed home,
Prepared in heav’n, and heaven’s King. [Refrain]
