1 Within the royal city,
That grand and glorious day,
When Jesus rode triumphant,
While palms o’erspread His way;—
He passed the Holy temple,
And heard the children sing,
Hosanna in the highest,
All praise to Judah’s King.

Our joyful hearts we raise;
To Him who reigns forevermore,

2 Adore Him all ye people,
Proclaim His boundless love,
Whose name shall be exalted
All other names above;

The angels sang at midnight,
