26. Hosanna in the Highest

1 Within the royal city,
That grand and glorious day,
When Jesus rode triumphant,
While palms o’erspread His way;—
He passed the Holy temple,
And heard the children sing,
Hosanna in the highest,
All praise to Judah’s King.

Refrain:
Hosanna in the highest!
Our joyful hearts we raise;
To Him who reigns forevermore,
Give praise, all praise.

2 Adore Him all ye people,
Proclaim His boundless love,
Whose name shall be exalted
All other names above;
Adore Him, all ye children;
His kind and gentle care,
His never failing mercy,
Let infant tongues declare. [Refrain]

3 When cradled in a manger,
A babe of holy birth,
The angels sang at midnight,
Good will and peace on earth;
They rent the air with music;
And we like them would sing,
All glory, endless glory,
To Him, our Lord and King. [Refrain]
