I Love the Lord

Scripture References

Confession

The psalmist declares:
I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
We gather as a community in need of a Savior.
We offer our honest confession,
in faith and trust in our covenant God,
knowing that God hears our voice.
—based on Psalm 116:1-2, NRSV

Additional Prayers

Compassionate God,
you protect us from unseen danger
and catch us when we stumble and fall.
You answer when we call to you in prayer.
Help our worship of you to be sacrificial and our vows to you to be sincere,
serving and rejoicing because of you as long as we live. Amen.

A Prayer of Praise
Almighty God, great deliverer, you turn to us when we call.
We offer you our sacrifice of praise.

From snares and traps you preserve us.
We offer you our sacrifice of praise.

From the downward spirals of sin you save us.
We offer you our sacrifice of praise.

From life about to come unhinged you deliver us.
We offer you our sacrifice of praise and prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.
