H11.II. Jesus the only Saviour

5 Jesus, the spring of joys divine,
Whence all my hopes and comforts flow;
Jesus, no other name but thine
Can save me from eternal woe.

6 In vain would boasting reason find
The way to happiness and God;
Her weak directions leave the mind
Bewilder'd in a dubious road.

7 No other name will heav'n approve;
Thou art the true, the living way,
(Ordain'd by everlasting love,)
To the bright realms of endless day.

8 Safe lead me thro' this world of night,
And bring me to the blissful plains,
The regions of unclouded light,
Where perfect joy forever reigns.
