CXLIX. Oh, sing unto the LORD

1 Oh, sing unto the LORD,
Him let the Righteous praise,
And in Assemblies meet,
His glorious Fame to raise,
Let Israel now in GOD rejoice,
And Sion to their King
Triumphant Praises sing,
With chearful Heart and well-tun'd Voice.

2 Oh, praise him, in the Dance
With Harp and Tabret join;
GOD loves the Meet, whilst they
Their Hearts to him resign.
Let all the Righteous bless the LORD,
And on their Beds rejoice;
And whilst they lift their Voice,
Bear in their Hands a two-edg'd Sword.

3 The Heathen to chastise;
For their Injustice past,
In Chains their Kings secure,
And bind their Nobles fast;
Them, as 'tis written, to destroy;
For GOD's most firm Decree
Shall full accomplish'd be;
Such Honours shall his Saints enjoy.
