102. I Shall See Him By and By

1 When my heart is heavy burdened, when so distant seems the goal,
And the dreary shadows darken all thy sky,
O how sweet to hear the whisper of the Love of my soul,
And to know that I shall see Him by and by.

I shall see my Redeemer by and by,

O the joy it will be to see His face,
Shouting forth the wonders of His saving grace.

2 When the toil of day seems fruitless, when at eve no sheaves are mine,
And I send the homeward way with empty hands,
O how sweet to catch the comfort of my precious Friend divine,
And to know that my Redeemer understands. [Refrain]

3 I will trust His love completely and be ready for His call,
Naught shall cause my soul to wander form His fold;
He will share my cares and troubles, lead me safely thro’ them all,
Till my Lord, in all His beauty, I behold. [Refrain]
