Text: | Lo! The Harvest Is Nigh |
Author: | E. C. Macartney |
Tune: | [God’s harvest time is drawing near] |
Composer: | Richard Harding |
1 God’s harvest time is drawing near,
His reapers still are few;
Oh hasten then to spread the light,
There’s work for us to do.
Go forth into the vineyard,
And labor while you may
Still many souls there are to win,
For that great judgment day.
Refrain:
Then forth to the harvest we’ll hasten,
While yet there is work to be done,
And toil for our blessed Redeemer,
That all to His kingdom may come.
2 Then sinners turn, why will ye spurn,
Salvation full and free?
He offers it to all mankind,
It is for you and me.
And if we heed the gospel light,
For us it will be well
When we shall pass from earth away
With God in heav’n to dwell. [Refrain]
3 And when with Christ, the heavenly King,
We enter into rest;
We’ll praise His name forevermore,
And sing among the blest.
Sing praises to His holy name
Of His most gracious love
Who died to save us from our sins,
That we might dwell above. [Refrain]
