746. Ten Thousand Times Ten Thousand

1 Ten thousand times ten thousand
give glory to the Lamb;
the angel hosts around the throne
praise God, the great I AM.
Triumphant alleluias
fill earth and sea and sky,
as countless voices join the song
and worship God on high.

2 O day, for which creation
and all its tribes were made!
O joy, for all its former grief
a thousandfold repaid!
The armies of the ransomed
have fought with death and sin:
fling open wide the mighty gates
to let the victors in!

3 Bring near your great salvation,
O Lord, return again.
to gather all your chosen flock--
then take your power and reign!
Appear, Desire of Nations;
your exiles long for home;
show in the heavens your promised sign,
then, Prince and Savior, come!
