1 Lamp of our feet by thee we trace
Our path when wont to stray;
The sacred stream of heavenly grace;
The brook beside our way.

A radiant clouds by day.

2 Bread of our souls whereon we feed,
True manna from on high
One guide, one chart wherein we read

When waves would whelm our tossing bark,

4 Childhood's preceptor! manhood's trust!
Old age's firm ally;
