Text: | We Love Your Kingdom, Lord |
Author: | Timothy Dwight |
Tune: | ST. THOMAS |
1 We love your kingdom, Lord,
The house of your abode,
The church our blest Redeemer saved
With his own precious blood.
2 We love your church, O God:
Her walls reflect your plan,
A symbol of love's covenant
Uniting God and man.
3 For her our tears shall fall,
For her our prayers ascend;
To her our cares and toils be given,
Till toils and cares shall end.
4 Beyond our highest joy
We prize her heavenly ways,
Her sweet communion, solemn vows,
Her hymns of love and praise.
Amen.
