This lengthy Advent processional comes from the repertoire of the Dameans. Though scored for piano and optional guitar, it’s fairly straightforward except for a highly unusual bass line that lends the accompaniment a unique feel. Five stanzas of the familiar Advent hymn are followed by seven new verses and a coda, which sing the “O Antiphons” in a more original form. The two sections could easily be used separately, or in alternation from one to the other and back.
