The texts for Prayer for Peace are excerpted from Psalms 130 and 120 and from the Agnus Dei of the Mass Ordinary. The word "peace" appears randomly throughout the work in a variety of languages in an attempt to illustrate its cultural universality. Performers and conductors can decide on their own how to render these passages.
