For centuries, this plainchant Alleluia has been the assigned melody proper to the Easter Vigil to announce and acclaim the Gospel. In this edition, the solemn chant Alleluia is set with organ accompaniment and paired with unaccompanied choral verses. In addition to being proper to the Easter Vigil, the three verses of Psalm 118 are the versicles for the Easter Day responsorial psalm. Reproducible parts for congregation are included.
