If I go to a hymn page, add "publication date" to the displayed columns, then click the column header to sort by publication date, the column disappears. Defeats the purpose of sorting in the first place.

Haven't tried it since your post, but I'm pretty sure I did that sort of sort yesterday successfully. It reloads at the top of the page and I have to scroll back down to the columns, but when I get back down to them the Pub Date column is still there and the instances are ordered by it, with undated ones (like Cyber Hymnal instances) first, then oldest to newest dates.

What bugs me is the way Cyber Hymnal™ and some other instances (e.g. New Hymns of Hope) are counted as "pre-1979" because no publication date is given. I think there should be a way to distinguish between recent undated items (including Cyber Hymnal™ and any other online collections) and older undated items (including most hymnals that do not show a publication date), with the former treated as post-1978 and the latter as pre-1979.
