The mp3 files on a page such as http://www.hymnary.org/hymn/SH/8 don't play correctly for me, in firefox. They play the first few seconds and then stop. If I right-click and download, they play correctly. Presumably, they are not linked correctly. Also, I would like ot have them play in-line, without going to another page.
Perhaps there is a better way of linking them within the HTML. An alternative would be to use a flash widget for playing mp3 files. (I'm not a big fan of flash, but if there is no other way, that would be acceptable.)
There is now a mp3 widget for audio files. This widget is placed above the exiting list of audio files and will play the files from a pre-made playlist.
This should fix issues with playing mp3 files from a 3rd party player. As long as users have flash, it will work.
I believe Peter is referring to the MP3s for a book on CCEL. Music files on the hymnary still require an embedded media player (probably a smaller/simpler one that fits on one line).
