Died: No­vem­ber 17, 2008, Han­o­ver, In­di­a­na.

Huber’s par­ents were Pres­by­ter­ian mis­sion­ari­es in Chi­na. In 1928, the fam­i­ly re­turned to Amer­i­ca, and in 1929 moved to Han­o­ver, In­di­a­na, when her fa­ther, Al­bert G. Park­er, be­came pre­si­dent of Han­o­ver Col­lege. Jane grad­u­at­ed in 1944 from North­field School for Girls in Mass­a­chu­setts. Af­ter three years at Well­es­ley Coll­ege, she re­turned to Han­o­ver & grad­u­ated from Han­o­ver Coll­ege in 1948. In 1988, Han­over Coll­ege con­ferred a Doc­tor of Hu­mane Let­ters on her. In Au­gust 1948, she and her hus­band moved to Chi­cago, Il­li­nois. Fol­low­ing her hus­band’s sem­in­a­ry train­ing, they lived in No­bles­ville, In­di­a­na, serv­ing the No­bles­ville Pres­by­ter­ian Church for three years. They moved to In­di­an­a­po­lis, In­di­a­na, in 1955. The new con­gre­ga­tion and church school class­es met in their manse home the first year while the church was be­ing built.

Huber served on sev­er­al com­mit­tees and coun­cils of the Pres­by­ter­ian Church (USA), was vice pre­si­dent of Unit­ed Pres­by­ter­ian Wo­men (1973-76), and served on the Na­tion­al Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee. She was al­so on the Coun­cil on Wo­men and the Church, chair­ing that bo­dy for three years. She was on the Gen­er­al Ass­emb­ly Mis­sion Coun­cil, the Ad­vis­o­ry Coun­cil on Dis­ci­ple­ship and Wor­ship, the Joint Com­mit­tee on Wo­men, lead­ing up to Pres­by­ter­i­an re­un­ion in 1983. Fol­low­ing re­un­ion, she served on the Gen­er­al As­semb­ly Coun­cil for six years and on the Com­mit­tee for a New Hymn­book. She re­ceived sev­er­al hon­ors from the Pres­by­ter­i­an Church and was named a "Val"­"iant Wo"­"man" by Church Wo­men Unit­ed in their Ju­bi­lee Year.

Starting in 1976, Hu­ber wrote new hymns most­ly set to fam­il­iar hymn tunes. Two books with over 125 of her hymns were pub­lished n 1987 and 1996. Ele­ven hymns made their way in­to the Pres­by­ter­ian hym­nal pub­lished in 1990. She al­so wrote stu­dies for These Days and ar­ti­cles for Ho­ri­zons ma­ga­zine, and a col­umn ti­tled "Ask Jane" for that pub­li­ca­tion for sev­er­al years.
