Come, let us seek our God's protection

Author: Tom Colvin Hymnal: LUW1997 #21 (1997) Lyrics: 1 Come, let us seek our God's protection, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 2 Our foes are gathered all around us, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 3 See fear, despair and guilt enslave us, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 4 Our eyes are tired from too much weeping, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 5 God knows our suffering, sees our trouble, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 6 God is our refuge and defender, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 7 How wonderful God's constant love is, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 8 Our God unites us as one people, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 9 Let's dance and sing to God our Savior, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 10 And shout for joy with all God's children, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. 11 Haleluya, yes, haleluya, Yesu sets us free to love and serve, Yesu sets us free. Just as a lamb is led

Author: Peter Z. Thole, d. 1950; Helen Taylor; Tom Colvin Hymnal: LUW1997 #22 (1997) First Line: Just as a lamb is led to the slaughter Lyrics: 1 Just as a lamb is led to the slaughter, so was our Savior, ours was the sin. 2 All through the night Christ prayed in the garden bowed in deep sorrow, ours was the sin. 3 Then on a cross, they nailed our dear Savior, there was Christ murdered ours was the sin. 4 High on that cross our Savior hung dying, low was Christ buried, ours was the sin. 5 Yesu our Savior rose after dying, death could not hold Christ, neither our sin. 6 Christ is the only glorious redeemer, Christ, who has saved us from all our sin. To loving Yesu, our dearest friend

Author: Tom Colvin Hymnal: LUW1997 #23 (1997) Refrain First Line: Sing out, my heart Lyrics: 1 To loving Yesu, our dearest friend, our hearts will ever sing; let us whose lives have been touched by Christ, our finest talents bring. Refrain: Sing out, my heart, Yesu is clearing for us the road. Sing out, my heart, Yesu is making us friends with God. 2 We have no right and we make no claim to favor from God's hand; but Yesu died and then rose again that with God we might stand. [Refrain] 3 Through Yesu we are put right with God, and clothed in love and peace; the saving presence of our God ensures that troubles cease. [Refrain] 4 See, peace and justice walk hand in hand when love and faith agree; by faith in Yesu and trust in love we'll walk in unity. Yesu, our child lies dying

Author: Tom Colvin Hymnal: LUW1997 #24 (1997) First Line: Yesu, our child at home lies dying Lyrics: 1 "Yesu, our child at home lies dying. Nothing we've tried has brought her healing." So said Yairu to the Healer, prostrate pleading for their daughter. "Heal our child, Yesu, come with me, Yesu to our home. Save her now, Yesu, heal our child, Yesu, hear our prayer." 2 While on the way they heard a wailing, neighbors had gathered round in mourning. "Stop this weeping, she's just sleeping, I shall hear her," promised Yesu. "You cannot," they said, "she is dead," they said, "Do not mock." "Go outside," he cried, "Little girl, arise, take my hand." 3 Then hand in hand with Yesu walking, her life renewed, she started eating. He had healed her, Yesu saved her and restores her to her mother. "We have faith, Yesu, not enough, Yesu, give us more. We believe in you, we need healing too, hear our prayer." 4 "God, we have friends in search of healing, whom now we name before you kneeling. Healer Yesu, we beseech you and entreat you peace to give them. Heal their bodies now, heal their spirits now, and their minds. Let them be restored, make them whole, Yesu, hear our prayer." 5 "Peace, health and wholeness will be ours, God, when it is your will that is done, God. Keep us faithful, ever hopeful, always joyful, for we're with you. May our love, Yesu, be your love, Yesu, reaching out. Take us by the hand, then we'll always stand at your side." Our troubles do abound

Author: Tom Colvin Hymnal: LUW1997 #25 (1997) Lyrics: 1 Our troubles do abound, but God is near. Our foes are all around: God, hear our prayer. 2 Though weak and poor, we pray, "dear God, be near." Our courage drains away; God, hear our prayer. 3 Our fears are not allayed; dear God, be near and hurry to our aid; God, hear our prayer. 4 But why should we be sad, when God is near? So let our hearts be glad; God, hear our prayer. 5 To all who cry to you, our God, be near, our hearts and minds renew; God, hear our prayer. God grant that we may be transformed

Author: Tom Colvin Hymnal: LUW1997 #26 (1997) Lyrics: 1 God grant that we may be transformed, united all in one. A new community of love, by whom your will be done. 2 Release us from the power of pride, from selfishness us free. Bring us to that new life in Christ, of sharing willingly. 3 We'll sing together from our hearts, with joy made clear to all. We trust that as we walk with you you'll lift us when we fall. 4 This wisdom, hidden from the rich, is good news to the poor; God counts our wealth by how we share, not by how much we store. 5 Transform us all dear God we pray, and make your church be one, a sharing, loving fellowship, by whom your work is done. God's home is here

Author: Tom Colvin Hymnal: LUW1997 #29 (1997) First Line: God's home is here with humankind Lyrics: 1 God's home is here with humankind, for heaven broke out on earth when Yesu, born a little child, ennobled human birth. 2 With eyes of faith we see beyond the cruelty, death and pain. We see that Christ, once slain by sin, is here alive again. 3 Alive again and with us all, Christ leads to victory. Through Christ we know that God is here, in darkness, light we see. 4 So do not fear the tyrants' power nor think that God might fail. God's home is here this very hour, and goodness will prevail.
