Author: Mary Jackson Cathey Hymnal: NHOH #36 Meter: 8.7.8.7 D First Line: Come, all come, in celebration for the faith that we profess Lyrics: Come, all come, in celebration
for the faith that we profess,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Triune God whom we profess.
All believers who before us
kept the faith and passed it on,
gave to us a sacred blessing
so that we now pass it on.
Sing, all sing, in jubilation
for the church to lead and guide
in fulfilling Christ's great mission
spread the Gospel far and wide.
When God sent the Holy Spirit
then the church received its birth,
fellowship of hope and pardon
is Christ's body here on earth.
Join, all join, in prayer and praises
for disciples of the past
who gave lives of constant service
sharing precepts that would last.
Through their nurture and direction
constant prayer and fervent drive
with the guidance of the Spirit
churches grew to serve and thrive.
Worship God with true thanksgiving
for the Bible, God's own Word,
from the wisdom of its pages
comes the message to be heard:
tend the sick and feed the hungry,
give to all who are in need,
visit those who are in prison
as we serve in word and deed.
Speak of God in awe and wonder
for creation and our lives.
By God's goodness and God's mercy
in our faith all hope survives.
From the earth to boundless heavens
through all lands, from shore to shore,
tell God's saving grace and promise
life with God forevermore. Languages: English
