M. Lynwood Smith
1924 - 2007 Author of "We Believe" in Blessed Refuge Morris Lynwood Smith (1924-2007) was a preacher for Churches of Christ. He preached and held gospel meetings throughout Oklahoma, Alabama, and elsewhere. He helped initiate a special annual gathering of one-cup congregations on July 4 and New Year's Day that met in a different Oklahoma town each year. His interest in music led him to attend the Stamps Quartet School of Music in 1947. He sang with "The Zita Boys," a quartet composed of Johnny Elmore, Billy Smith, C. A. Smith, and himself. Smith wrote and published several songs, often writing a song for the annual meetings. In his lifetime, Smith published 16 songbooks of his and others' songs and hymns. He published over 700 songs and helped publish the songs of many other hymn and song writers.

Pitt was living in Baltimore, Maryland, by 1880, and through at least 1910. She may have died before 1920, as the daughter with whom she was living in 1910 was on her own and still single in 1920.

1842 - 1926 Person Name: O. A. Ottander Author of "Trust in the Savior, O precious soul" Ottander, Otto Alfred. (Edshult, Sweden, October 6, 1842--June 30, 1926). Lutheran. Studied at Uppsala University. Ordained in 1870. Pastorates at Hässelby, Norrköping, and Östervåla. For six years was chairman of the East Småland's Mission Society and editor of its monthly. Wrote a number of hymns which were published in several editions between 1877 and 1880 under the title Sjunger Herranom alla land (Sing to the Lord, All Nations). A final edition appeared in 1885 with the title Korsblomman (The Cross Flower). Author of "Vi bo ej här nere gästa" (As pilgrims in this world), "Håll dig vid klippan, dyrköpta själ" (Trust in the Savior, o precious soul).
