O Thou from whom all goodness flows

Author: Rev. Thomas Haweis Hymnal: HAGA1895 #721 (1895) Lyrics: 1 O Thou, from whom all goodness flows, I lift my heart to Thee; In all my sorrows, conflicts, woes, Dear Lord, remember me. 2 When groaning on my burdened heart My sins lie heavily, My pardon speak, new peace impart: In love remember me. 3 Temptations sore obstruct my way, And ills I cannot flee: O give me strength Lord, as my day; For good remember me. 4 Distressed with pain, disease, and grief This feeble body see; Grant patience, rest, and kind relief: Hear and remember me. 5 In on my face, for Thy dear Name, Shame and reproaches be, All hail reproach, and welcome shame, If Thou remember me. 6 The hour is near; consigned to death, I own the just decree, "Saviour," with my last parting breath, I'll cry, "Remember me." Amen.

Jesus, my Strength, my Hope

Author: Rev. Charles Wesley Hymnal: HAGA1895 #722 (1895) Lyrics: 1 Jesus, my Strength, my Hope, On Thee I cast my care; With humble confidence look up, And know Thou hear'st my prayer; Give me on Thee to wait, Till I can all things do; On Thee, almighty to create, Almighty to renew. 2 I want a sober mind, A self-renouncing will, That tramples down and casts behind The baits of pleasing ill; A soul inured to pain, To hardship, grief, and loss; Bold to take up, firm to sustain, The consecrated cross. 3 I want a godly fear, A quick-discerning eye, That looks to Thee when sin is near, And sees the tempter fly; A spirit still prepared, And armed with jealous care; For ever standing on its guard, And watching unto prayer. 3 I rest upon Thy word; Thy promise is for me; My succor and salvation, Lord, Shall surely come from Thee: But let me still abide, Nor from my Hope remove, Till Thou my patient spirit guide Into Thy perfect love. Amen.

Thou art my Hiding-place, O Lord

Author: Rev. Thomas Raffles Hymnal: HAGA1895 #724 (1895) Lyrics: 1 Thou art my Hiding-place, O Lord, In Thee I put my trust; Encouraged by Thy holy word, A feeble child of dust: I have no argument beside, I urge no other plea; And 'tis enough my Savior died, My Saviour died for me. 2 When storms of fierce temptation beat, And furious foes assail, My refuge is the mercy-seat, My hope within the veil. From strife of tongues and bitter words My spirit flies to Thee: Joy to my heart the thought affords, My Saviour died for me. 3 Mid trials heavy to be borne, When mortal strength is vain, A heart with grief and anguish torn, A body racked with pain; Ah! what could give the sufferer rest, Bid every murmur flee, But this, the witness in my breast That Jesus died for me? 4 And when Thine awful voice commands This body to decay, And life, in its last lingering sands, Is ebbing fast away,-- Then, though it be in accents weak, And faint and tremblingly, O give me strength in death to speak, "My Saviour died for me." Amen.
