Author of "Keep Me True" in The New National Baptist Hymnal (21st Century Edition) In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

1942 - 1998 Person Name: Chas. F. Brown Arranger of "[Keep me true, Lord Jesus, keep me true]" in The New National Baptist Hymnal (21st Century Edition) Charles Franklin Brown USA 1942-1998. Born at Nixon, TX, he was the son of a Baptist minister. He attended high school at Beeville, TX. He married Sherene Brown and he spent four years in the Navy, and they traveled to his various naval assignments around the world. No information found regarding family. During his military service he also taught in the naval School of Music at Virginia Beach, VA. He later lived at Nixon, TX, and attended Baylor U, Baylor, TX, and Southern Methodist U, University Park, TX, receiving music degrees. He worked with Word Records, Waco, TX, as a publisher. One of his music books is: ‘Sing & Celebrate’. He was an orchestra conductor and music arranger. He mentored and inspired many musicians over the years. He died at Waco, TX. John Perry
