An Uttermost Salvation

Author: Maggie E. Gregory Hymnal: The Voice of Praise #102 (1904) First Line: My songs arise in fervent adoration Refrain First Line: He saves me with an uttermost salvation Lyrics: 1 My songs arise in fervent adoration, A paean to the gracious King of Kings; For he has saved me with a great salvation, And keeps me safe beneath his shelt'ring wing. Chorus: He saves me with an uttermost salvation; He makes my heart his spirit's dwelling place; Thro' life I'll praise him with glad adoration, And after death I'll praise him face to face. 2 When wand'ring far from him, he sought and found me, A sheep, astray on mountains bleak and cold; He put his arms of tenderness around me, Call'd me his child, and wooed me to his fold. [Chorus] 3 He bore me in his arms of loving kindness, Soothed all my sorrows, strengthened me when weak; He touch'd my eyes that long were seal'd in blindness, Then loosed my stam'ring tongue and bade me speak. [Chorus] Tune Title: [My songs arise in fervent adoration]

In Songs of Sublime Adoration and Praise

Author: Keen Hymnal: The New Christian Hymnal #128 (1929) Meter: 11.8.11.9 Lyrics: 1. In songs of sublime adoration and praise, Ye pilgrims, for Zion who press, Break forth and extol the great Ancient of days, His rich and distinguishing grace. 2. His love from eternity fixed upon you, Broke forth and uncovered its flame, When each with the cords of His kindness He drew, And brought you to love His great Name. 3. O! had He not pitied the state you were in, Your bosoms His love had ne'er felt: You all would have lived, would have died too in sin, And sunk with the load of your guilt. 4. What was there in you that could merit esteem, Or give the Creator delight? 'Twas "Even so, Father," you ever must sing, "Because it seemed good in Thy sight." 5. Then give all the glory to His holy Name, To Him all the glory belongs; Be yours the high joy still to sound forth His fame, And crown Him in each of your songs. O Lord, Our God, in Adoration

Author: R. Michael Cullinan Hymnal: The Cyber Hymnal #5136 Meter: 9.8.9.8 Lyrics: 1. O Lord, our God, in adoration We worship You and bend the knee, With angel hosts our praises singing, With longing eyes the Christ to see. 2. To shepherds, angels tell the story, Who run with haste to Bethl’hem near That they might see this Child most holy And spread the word that all might hear. 3. Of virgin mother pure and favored, The King of kings is born this day. A humble stable gives Him shelter— His bed, a manger filled with hay. 4. This infant Sovereign comes as servant— For to this purpose was He sent. His life and death and resurrection Are sacrifice and sacrament. 5. And so with kings we kneel before Him To offer gifts of frankincense; With myrrh and gold we make oblation— Each Christian heart on earth repents! 6. Be near us, Lord, when we are weary; Secure us to Your loving breast Until You bring us to Your kingdom Where we shall find eternal rest. Languages: English Tune Title: ST. CLEMENT

Low bowing before Him, Praise, laud and adore Him, Great Author of life and of salvation. He came our burden of sin to share, A crown of thorns on the cross to wear, Let ev’ry creature sing In honor of the King, And to the world His name declare. Refrain: Though rejected and denied, Persecuted, crucified, He from the grave arose In triumph o’er His foes! Who shall then deny, His name, or who His pow’r defy? Before Him we adoring fall, And crown Him Lord of all. Behold Him! Though rejected and denied, Persecuted, crucified, He from the grave arose In triumph o’er His foes! Who shall then deny, His name, or who His pow’r defy? Before Him we adoring fall, And crown Him Lord of all. 2 Cry aloud His majesty and glory; Tell again the ever blessed story! Rise, Rise, My Soul

Author: Wilson T. Hogue Hymnal: Light and Life Songs No. 2 #112 (1914) First Line: Rise, rise, my soul, in lofty adoration Lyrics: 1 Rise, rise, my soul, in lofty adoration, As soars the eagle in his lofty flight, Mount to His throne in rapturous contemplation, Who dwells for aye in realms of cloudless light, Far, far above the din of earth ascending, Fall at His feet and worship and adore; With seraphs bright up on their Lord attending, Laud thou Jehovah, blest forevermore. 2 Bring thou in love thy tribute of devotion, Off’ring of incense fragrant, pure and sweet; Moved by the pow’r of rapturous emotion, Bring praises for the King of glory meet, Thou whom, by sin brought under condemnation, He hath redeemed thro’ His abounding grace; Laud Him for aye who wro’t out thy salvation; Lift to His throne unceasing songs of praise. 3 Vie thou, my soul, with Heav’n’s cherubic legions, And with the seraphs bright before His throne; Vie with the hosts of those supernal regions In lofty hymns to make His glory known, Weak though thou art, and lofty tho’ their station, Thou hast a song that angels may not sing; By Christ redeemed, who died for all the nations, Lift thy “new song” and make His praises ring.
