And have I measured half my days? C. Wesley. [Pleading for Pardon.] Appeared in Hymns & Sacred Poems, 1749, vol. i., in 16 stanza of 4 lines, and again in the Poetical Works, 1868-72, vol. iv. p. 322. In 1780, J. Wesley included stanza x.-xiii. and xvi. in the Wesleyan Hymn Book as:—"God is in this and every place." The same is retained in all subsequent editions of that work, and has passed into general use amongst the Methodist bodies, and also in a few American collections of other denominations.
