Representative Text

1 Christ Jesus is my Shepherd,
My needs He doth supply;
In green and pleasant pastures
He causes me to lie.
Beside the quiet waters
How sweet is my repose!
And since His light shines round me
My heart no sorrow knows.

Refrain:
Christ Jesus is my Shepherd,
My true and faithful Guide;
His providence shall alway
For His own flock provide.

2 In paths of perfect safety
He leads me on my way,
And when I tread death’s valley
His word shall be my stay.
His rod and staff support me,
And should I miss the road,
This kind and gentle Shepherd
Will bring me back to God. [Refrain]

3 A table Thou preparest
Amid my angry foes,
And Thy great loving-kindness
Thou dost to me disclose.
My cup, it runneth over
With blessings all divine;
And so, O gracious Shepherd,
I joy to call Thee mine. [Refrain]
