1 Del santo amor de Cristo que no tendrá igual,
de su divina gracia, sublime y eternal,
De su misericordia, inmensa como el mar,
y cual los cielos alta, con gozo he de cantar.

Coro:
El amor de mi Señor,
grande y dulce es más y más;
Rico e inefable,
nada es comparable,
al amor de mi Jesús.

2 Cuando él vivió en el mundo la gente lo siguió;
sus penas y angustias en él depositó;
Entonces, bondadoso, su amor brotó en raudal
incontenible, inmenso, venciendo todo mal. [Coro]

3 Él puso en las pupilas del ciego nueva luz,
la eterna luz de vida que brilla de la cruz,
Y dio a sus seguidores la gloria de su ser

Vicente Mendoza Born: De­cem­ber 24, 1875, Guad­a­la­ja­ra, Mex­i­co. Died: 1955, Mex­i­co Ci­ty, Mex­i­co. Mendoza stu­died in­i­tial­ly un­der Don Au­re­lio Or­te­ga. At age of 11 he went to work in a Pro­test­ant print shop in Mex­i­co Ci­ty and helped pro­duce El Evan­gel­is­ta Mex­i­ca­no (The Mex­i­can Evan­gel­ist) for the Meth­od­ist Church of the South; he rose to be­come its di­rect­or for 17 years. Look­ing to im­prove him­self, Men­do­za en­tered a night school for work­ers, but lat­er feel­ing the call to preach the Gos­pel, he en­tered the Pres­by­ter­i­an Sem­in­a­ry in Mex­i­co Ci­ty. Author: Mrs. C. H. Morris

Lelia (Mrs. C.H.) Morris (1862-1929) was born in Pennsville, Morgan County, Ohio. When her family moved to Malta on the Muskingum River she and her sister and mother had a millinery shop in McConnelsville. She and her husband Charles H. Morris were active in the Methodist Episcopal Church and at the camp meetings in Sebring and Mt. Vernon. She wrote hymns as she did her housework. Although she became blind at age 52 she continued to write hymns on a 28-foot long blackboard that her family had built for her. She is said to have written 1000 texts and many tunes including "Sweeter as the years go by." Mary Louise VanDyke Go to person page >
