De la Iglesia el fundamento

Representative Text

1 De la Iglesia el fundamento
es Jesús el Salvador;
Por la obra de su gracia
le dio vida su Señor;
Para hacerla esposa quiso
de los cielos descenió,
Y su sangre por limpiarla
en la cruz él derramó.

2 De entre todas las naciones
escogida en variedad,
Al través de las edades
se presenta en unidad;
En diversidad de pueblos
sólo tiene un Señor,
Una fe y un nacimiento,
un constante y puro amor.

3 Ella alaba solo un nombre,
sigue una sola luz;
Guarda una esperanza
y su gloria es una cruz.
Por el celo que la anima,
de las almas corre en pos,
Y ambiciona por la gracia
conducirlas hacia Dios.

4 Al través de sufrimientos,
de fatigas y dolor,
El glorioso día espera
en que vuelva su Señor;
Consumada su carrera
ya sin mancha estará;
A las Bodas del Cordero
victoriosa entrará.
