Joy cometh in the morning

Representative Text

1 Earth at times to us appears,
As a gloomy vale of tears,
But this thought the Christian cheers.
Joy cometh in the morning,
Sorrow always will be found
Where the fruits of sin abound:
Tho' this balm may work its wound,
Joy cometh in the morning.

2 Still 'tis well to learn below,
Whence originates our woe,
Only this at length we'll known
Joy cometh in the morning,
Sin forsaking let us bear,
Patiently each grief and care,
Till we wake with Jesus, where
Joy cometh in the morning.
