Muĝis frosta vent',
Ter' al fer' ŝanĝiĝis,
Akvo al arĝent';
Neĝo ĉion kovris,
Blankis la kampar',
En la vintromezo
De pasinta jar'.

2. Tutan universon
Kreis Dia man';
Tamen li alprenis
Formon de infan'.
Kuŝis en staltrogo
Ĉe naskiĝa hor'
Dio Ĉiopova,
Kristo, la Sinjor'.

Laŭdis super ter',
Kantoj de serafoj
Ŝvebis en aer';

En animtrankvil',
Donis aman kison
Al la kara fil'.

Kvankam malriĉul'?
Se mi havus gregon,
Ŝafidon sen makul';
Riĉon mi ne havas,
Mankas al mi or'.
Donos mi la eblon —
Amon de la kor'.
