Representative Text

1 Ever abiding in his love, I am content;
Even a moment from his side is banishment;
Never a moment from his presence would I be,
Knowing that he is ever leading me.

Refrain:
His guiding hand shall ever lead me on
Thro' darkest night unto the welcome dawn;
When sore distressed, because the way is rough,
His love shines bright as stars at night,
Just when it is dark enough.

2 Sorrows of life shall never bear my spirit down;
Tenderest love for mourners doth his judgment crown;
Safely beneath the shelt'ring wings of love I'll rest,
Leaning upon my blessed Savior's breast. [Refrain]

3 Heavenly guides about us gather, day by day,
Leading us onward through the dark and rugged way,
Bringing us safely through the darkness into light,
Tho' we had doubted in the gloomy night. [Refrain]

4 Blessed are they who trust the Lord along life's way;
Blessed are they who look to him in faith each day;
Trusting him when the shadows gather dark as night;
Trusting him still to lead unto the light. [Refrain]
