Representative Text

1 How bright and grand, how glorious,
The angels’ joyful song,
When Christ, the Lord victorious,
From Heav’n to earth came down;
They sweetly sang the story
Of love to all mankind,
Of peace on earth, and glory
To God most high, divine.

2 The swelling chorus raises
The glad, triumphant song;
They harp and sing His praises
With hallelujahs long;
He comes! He comes with glory!
The Christ from Heav’n above,
To tell the world the story
Of His redeeming love.

3 And ’round His throne so glorious,
Chimes in the angel throng;
The seraphs shout, victorious!
The King of kings is born;
Ye people, bow before Him,
With songs of one accord,
To praise Him, and adore Him—
The blessèd Lamb of God.
