Representative Text

1 I was a sinner but now I’m free,
He rescued me, he rescued me;
Once I was blind, but now I see,
A brand from the burning, he rescued me.

Refrain:
He rescued me, he rescued me,
A brand from the burning, he rescued me;
O how I’ll praise him thro’ eternity,
A brand from the burning, he rescued me.

2 Once I was wayward, afar would stray,
He rescued me, he rescued me;
Now I am on the “King’s Highway,”
A brand from the burning, he rescued me. [Refrain]

3 Once evil led me, but now God reigns,
He rescued me, he rescued me;
Broken fore’er are sin’s dark chains,
A brand from the burning, he rescued me. [Refrain]
