In Gott versöhnt, in Christus neu

Representative Text

1 In Gott versöhnt, in Christus neu,
wir halten Sein Gedächtnis treu,
den Tod des Herrn verkündend frei,
bis daß Er kommt,
bis daß Er kommt.

2 Für uns gegeben ward Sein Leib.
Dies Brot dafür das Zeichen bleib
und uns zu heißer Liebe treib,
bis daß Er kommt,
bis daß Er kommt.

3 Im Todeskampfe floß Sein Blut,
Sein teures Blut kommt uns zu gut.
In diesem Wein Sein Zeugnis ruht,
bis daß Er kommt,
bis daß Er kommt.

4 Der Nacht, da Er verraten ward,
des Morgens, der Ihn offenbart,
gedenkt, wer auf den Meister harrt,
bis daß Er kommt,
bis daß Er kommt.

5 Wenn einst bei der Posaune Schall
sich öffnen rings die Gräber all,
das Feldgeschrei des Herrn erschallt,
bis daß Er kommt,
bis daß Er kommt.

6 O selge Hoffnung, himmlisch Freun,
das Herz laß unerschrocken sein!
Wir warten, Herr, im Glauben Dein,
bis daß Er kommt,
bis daß Er kommt.
