Representative Text

1. In the early morning, when the sunbeams bright
Shine around our pathway, scattering the night,
Jesus, gentle Savior, hear our earnest prayer;
Bless the little children, take us in Thy care.

2. When temptations gather, fears or foes affright,
When our footsteps waver in the path of right,
Jesus, tender Savior, with Thine arm uphold:
All our upward strivings in Thy love enfold.

3. When the shadows lengthen, bringing sweet repose,
Weary hands are folded, little eyelids close,
Jesus, loving Savior, guard us thro’ the night;
Keep Thy little children safe till morning light.
