Representative Text

1 Like a strong and mighty army,
With a firm and fearless tread,
We are marching, blessed Saviour,
By thy Word and Spirit led;
We are going forth to conquer,
And wherever we may be,
We will cheer each other onward
With a song of victory!

Refrain:
We will battle with the world for thee,
And the standard of the cross we’ll bear;
We will conquer thro’ thy Word,
Then go home to our reward,
And be gathered with the dear ones there.

2 Like a strong and mighty army
May we keep our colors bright;
In Thy cause, O blessed Master,
May we all as one unite;
Then, believing in Thy promise
“As our day our strength shall be,”
How our foes will fear and tremble
At the song of victory! [Refrain]

3 Looking up as thou hast taught us
To thy dwelling in the skies,—
Lifting up the souls that perish
From the death that never dies;
Consecrated now and ever
To the work, O Lord, are we,
‘Till we enter life eternal
With the song of victory! [Refrain]
