Stephen P. West is a husband, father, minister, musician, and writer. Along with his wife Sandy, also an ordained elder, he serves as a pastor in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. Coming from a long line of Methodist clergy, he finds that, with Augustine, singing is his way of 'praying twice.' As a vocalist, pianist, and trombonist he has performed in major choral works and played in local musical theater productions, He leads singing at the piano for Annual Conference, clergy retreats, and events such as SoulFeast at Junaluska. He has coordinated liturgy and led music at Academies for Spiritual Formation in Alabama, Florida, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, and Singapore.
