Representative Text

1 O, have you not heard of that city of light,
Where they need not the light of the sun;
And the lov’d ones so dear, with Jesus are there,
And they worship the glorified One?

Chorus:
Jesus is there, yes! Jesus is there,
Where sorrow and partings ne’er come;
Jesus, my Saviour, is there,
And I long to be with Him at home.

2 O, have you not heard of that city so bright,
That our Saviour has gone to prepare;
There no gloom ever comes, nor darkness of night,
And the saved of the Lord are all there? [Chorus]

3 I hope to be there, in that city of light,
Where my Saviour His jewels shall take;
With my garments wash’d in His blood and made white,
In His likeness I there shall awake. [Chorus]
