1835- Circa 1912 Born: May 30, 1835, Col­er­aine, Ver­mont. Son of Arad & Try­phen­ia McCloud Towne, Thom­as was a doc­tor, teach­er & com­pos­er. At one time he be­longed to the Con­ti­nent­als sing­ing group. One of his most pop­u­lar songs was the 1865 "Old Abe" the Batt­le Ea­gle.
