Representative Text

1 The Shepherd Jesus is ready now
The wand’ring sheep to save;
He calls the wand’rer from plain and mountain,
And from the brink of the grave.

Refrain:
The fold is now open, the Shepherd is calling,
Poor wandering sinner, come in.
The fold is now open, the Shepherd is calling,
Poor wandering sinner, come in.

2 The Shepherd Jesus is calling now,
He’s called you oft before
To enter into His fold and pasture—
Lo! He Himself is the door. [Refrain]

3 The Shepherd gave for the sheep His life—
He bled and died for you;
Will you reject now His love and mercy,
Your friend most loving and true? [Refrain]

4 And as you enter this Shepherd’s fold,
Your sins will be forgiv’n;
He’ll fill your heart with His joy o’erflowing,
And lead you safely to Heav’n. [Refrain]
