Representative Text

1 Tho’ in the grave the Savior lay,
And o’er Him death did reign;
He burst the mighty gates of death,
The Savior ‘rose again.

Refrain:
He ‘rose again,
He ‘rose again,
Triumphant o’er the pow’r of death,
The Savior ‘rose again.

2 Within the dark and silent tomb
Not long did He remain;
The grave could not His glory hide,
The Savior ‘rose again. [Refrain]

3 And o’er our ransomed souls shall death
Expend His pow’r in vain!
In Christ we have eternal life,
Because He ‘rose again. [Refrain]
