[Morning.] First published in the first edition of his Hymns on Various Passages of Scripture, 1804, in 5 stanzas of 4 lines, and based upon the words in Job vii. 20, "0 Thou Preserver of men" (ed. 1853, No. 497). It is found in several modern collections.
