Mary Louise (Mel) Bringle is Professor of Religious Studies and Chair of the Humanities Division at Brevard College. Her Ph.D. in Theological Studies is from Emory University. A hymn writer whose original texts and translations appear in the hymnals and supplements of numerous denominations in North America and Scotland, she has recently served as President of The Hymn Society in the US and Canada and as chair of the committee charged with creating a new hymnal for the Presbyterian Church USA. -Mary Louise Bringle Go to person page >
