Representative Text

1 Upon the cross our Saviour died,
On Calv'ry's brow was crucified;
See from His hands, His feet, His side,
His blood is dropping down.

Chorus:
His blood is dropping, dropping down,
His blood is dropping, dropping down,
O sinner get beneath the Cross,
His blood is dropping down.

2 For you the thorns once pierced His brow,
He drank the cup we know not how;
And for salvation even now,
His blood is dropping down. [Chorus]

3 O sinner come to Him today
For He hath told you that you may;
He'll wash your guilt and sin away,
His blood is dropping down. [Chorus]

4 No longer then be tempest toss'd,
In Jesus rest, He paid the cost;
And that your soul may not be lost,
His blood is dropping down. [Chorus]

Outside of the usual time spent in the public schools, Mr. Oatman received his education at Herbert's Academy, Princetown, N. J., and the New Jersey Collegiate Institute, Bordentown, N. J. At the age of nineteen he joined the M.E. Church, and a few years later he was granted a license to preach the Gospel, and still later he was regularly ordained by Bishop Merrill. However, Mr. Oatman only serves as a local preacher. For many years he was engaged with his father in the mercantile business at Lumberton… Go to person page >
