1 Waiting still whate’er betide,
Oft in toilsome paths and wide,
Till the blessed eventide
Bring me rest, sweet rest and home.

Refrain:
Rest and home, sweet rest and home;
Dear heavenly home;
Day by day I nearer come
To my rest and home.

2 Waiting till the war shall cease,
And the warrior find release,
‘Till the evening time of peace

With my Saviour always near,
‘Till the victory’s song of cheer

Cushing, William Orcutt , born at Hingham, Massachusetts, Dec. 31, 1823, is the author of the following hymns which appear in I. D. Sankey's Sacred Songs and Solos:— 1. Beautiful valley of Eden.
